Discuss and Consider Providing Direction to the City Manager and City <br />Attorney to Direct Staff to Prepare an Ordinance Prohibiting the Use of <br />Algorithmic Pricing Tools – Councilmember Lopez <br /> <br />MINUTES: Councilmember Lopez gave a brief presentation regarding preparing an <br />ordinance prohibiting the use of algorithmic pricing tools. <br />Councilmember Hernandez spoke in support of the item. <br />Councilmember Bacerra spoke in support of the item and requested to wait for the <br />outcome of the litigation between the City of Berkeley and RealPage. <br />Mayor Amezcua spoke in support of the item and waiting for the outcome of the City <br />of Berkeley’s litigation. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Vazquez spoke in support of the item and waiting for the outcome <br />of the City of Berkeley’s litigation. <br />Councilmember Penaloza spoke in support of the item and waiting for the outcome <br />of the City of Berkeley’s litigation. <br />Councilmember Phan spoke in support of the item. <br />Councilmember Lopez thanked everyone for their input and explained other cities <br />have also implemented this. <br />WORK STUDY SESSION <br />MINUTES: At 8:42 P.M., the Work Study Session was considered. <br />25.
