Parks, Recreation and Community Services <br />www.santa-ana.org/parks <br />Item # 9 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />October 21, 2025 <br />TOPIC: Furniture, Installation, and Related Services <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Purchase Order Contract to CN School and Office Solutions Inc. dba Culver-Newlin Inc. <br />for Furniture, Installation, and Related Services (Specification No. 25-122) (General Fund <br />& Non-General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Award Purchase Order Contract to CN School and Office Solutions Inc. dba Culver- <br />Newlin Inc. for Furniture, Installation, and Related Services for a term beginning October <br />7, 2025 and expiring June 30, 2026, in an amount not to exceed $238,715. <br />GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES: No <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City of Santa Ana has constructed a new Community Center at Santa Anita Park. <br />Some of the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency (PRCSA) staff that was <br />operating out of Centennial Park will be moved to this location and to the Santa Ana <br />Stadium. As a result, PRCSA is requesting a purchase order contract for furnishings of <br />these two locations. The cost to furnish the portion of the Santa Anita Community Center <br />occupied by PRCSA is $186,007 and the cost to furnish a re-purposed room at the Santa <br />Ana Stadium is $52,708, for a total amount not to exceed $238,715. <br />Santa Ana Municipal Code, Section 2-807(d), authorizes the City to purchase against <br />contracts from any public agency utilizing a competitive bid process. San Bernardino <br />Superintendent of Schools, a government agency, awarded a contract to Culver-Newlin <br />Inc., Contract No. 23/24-0005, as a result of open, competitive bidding. <br />Staff researched available procurement options and determined that Culver-Newlin Inc. <br />meets the City’s specifications and can provide furniture, installation, and related services <br />to be utilized by PRCSA. By leveraging the procurement power through piggybackable <br />purchasing, the City of Santa Ana is able to obtain vetted, high quality products at <br />competitive volume pricing, and is in accordance with the City’s existing Purchasing <br />Guidelines. <br /> <br />
