FREE RECORDING PURSUANT TO <br />GOVERNMENT CODE § 27383 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025-XX <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION NO. <br />2024-10 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1412 N. <br />LOUISE STREET, SANTA ANA, ON THE HISTORICAL <br />REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC REGISTER <br />CATEGORIZATION NO. 2025-07 PLACING SAID <br />PROPERTY WITHIN THE CONTRIBUTIVE CATEGORY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana hereby <br />finds, determines, and declares as follows: <br />A. On September 23, 2025, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2024-10) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2025-07) of the R. Miller House located at 1412 N. <br />Louise Street, Santa Ana. <br />B. The R. Miller House has distinctive architectural features of the Tudor <br />Revival style and was built in 1932. <br />C. The R. Miller House qualifies for listing in the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties under Criterion 1 as an intact example of a Tudor <br />Revival -style home in Santa Ana. The house displays characteristics of the <br />Tudor Revival style through its use of its asymmetrical primary fagade, <br />cross -gabled roof, moderately rough stucco siding, and wood -sash <br />windows in various configurations. The recommended categorization is <br />"Contributive" because it contributes to the history and character of its <br />neighborhood as an example of the Tudor Revival style. Character -defining <br />features of the R. Miller House include, but may not be limited to: L-shaped <br />plan; asymmetrical primary fagade; cross -gabled and flat roof with <br />moderate to high -pitch; minimal roof overhang; gable vents, moderately <br />rough stucco siding and false timbering; external brick chimney; multi -pane, <br />wood -sash windows; single -pane focal window situated in a pentagonal <br />opening and framed with a molded surround evocative of stonework; <br />tripartite focal window with central fixed pane and flanking multi -pane wood <br />sashes; recessed, diamond -glazed window located adjacent to the front <br />entrance and to the focal window; main entrance set within in a small gable <br />and accessible by two curved concrete steps; and detached garage. <br />Resolution No. 2025-XX <br />Page 1 of 6 <br />
