ARTICLE IX <br /> 9.0 HOLIDAYS <br /> 9.1. Legal holidays observed by full-time employees are as follows: <br /> o January 1 -New Year's Day. <br /> o Third (3rd).Monday in January-Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday. <br /> o Third (3rd)Monday in February- President's Day. <br /> o March 31 —Cesar Chavez Day <br /> o Last Monday in May-Memorial Day. <br /> o July 4 -Independence Day. <br /> o First (Ist) Monday in September-Labor Day. <br /> o November I I - Veterans' Day. <br /> o Fourth (4th) Thursday in November- Thanksgiving Day. <br /> o The Friday immediately following Thanksgiving Day. <br /> O Last working day before Christmas Day, unless Christmas Day falls on Thursday, <br /> in which instance, the day following Christmas Day shall be observed in lieu <br /> thereof. <br /> O December 25 - Christmas Day. <br /> o Two (2) Floating Holidays - Any workday selected by the employee with prior <br /> permission of the employee's supervisor. <br /> O Every day proclaimed by the Mayor of the City as a holiday for City employees. <br /> O Any holiday which falls on a Sunday shall be observed on the following Monday. <br /> O Any holiday which falls on a Saturday shall be observed on the Friday preceding <br /> the holiday. <br /> 9.2 Holidays - Shift Personnel and Employees on Alternate Work Schedules. <br /> A.
