C. Effective the date of City Council adoption of this 2025-2028 MOU,the maximum <br /> total unused sick leave that can be converted by an employee covered by this MOU <br /> to additional service credit at the time of retirement shall be forty-four (44) eight <br /> (8) hour working days equal to three hundred fifty-two (352) hours. Employees <br /> hired on or after a contract amendment between the City and CalPERS shall not be <br /> eligible to convert unused sick leave to CalPERS for service credit. <br /> D. The City must report only those days of unused sick leave that were accrued by the <br /> employee during the normal course of employment. This section applies to <br /> employees whose effective date of retirement is within four (4) months of <br /> separation from employment. <br /> 13.6 Military Service Credit as Public Service. An employee shall be permitted to purchase up <br /> to four (4) years of service credit for any continuous active military or merchant marine <br /> service prior to employment.
