Lacy St. Antisdell House Craftsman Bungalow 1921 <br />Single-storied, with a low-pitched front-facing gabled roof, the <br />Antisdell House is clad in narrow clapboard siding. Single exposed beam <br />ends accent the corners of the main gable and the matching offset porch <br />gable. Tapered elephantine posts, resting on stucco-clad piers with <br />concrete caps, support the porch roof. The original door, with a window in <br />the top third, a decorative ledge, and a trio of vertical panels, is centered in <br />the front facade and flanked by a pair of double-hung windows. A square <br />cantilevered bay is located on the south side. <br />The bungalow at 1218 N. Lacy was originally owned by Charles and <br />Ethel Antisdell. He was a polisher with C. Kaufman and Sons. By 1923 <br />William and Jessie Breckenridge moved in, to stay until the mid-1940's. <br />He was a driver for the Santa Ana Laundry, located at 1111 E. Fourth St., <br />and later, a salesman for Quality Cleaners. <br />1221-23-25-27 N. Lacy St. Dehne Apts. No. 2 Minimal Traditional 1948 <br />Located on the corner of Washington and Lacy Streets, this two-story <br />rectangular building is clad in sand finish stucco and topped with a low- <br />pitched hipped roof. A staircase in the center leads to hallway to the <br />second floor apartments, bordered by Oriental-influenced square wood <br />railings. 4-light stationary windows, flank the two-story opening on the <br />second floor. Matching hipped roof bays, centered with 8-light stationary <br />windows flank the first floor entry. All other windows are 2-over-2, <br />divided horizontally. <br />Mrs. Amelia Dehne. a former restaurant owner, built this apartment <br />building in 1948 and moved into apartment 1221 from the earlier (1944) <br />building she built at 1102-14 N. Lacy St. The first tenants in this building, <br />listed in the 1949 directory, were; Herbert and Edna Wallingford, Supt. at <br />Grimes Electric Co., 1214 S. Main St.; George and Lucille Andrich Jr., produce <br />dealer; Mrs. Marjorie Talmage. <br />  <br />    <br />
