Lacy St., the two-story <br />Sanborn Apartments are topped with a flat roof with a red -clay -tile -clad <br />shed -style roof on the front. Stucco -clad piers flank each end of the tile <br />roof. Small round tile drains accent the parapet. The original patterned <br />stucco cladding covers the exterior. A diamond -patterned cast plaster <br />screen, flanked by pairs of casement windows, occupies the second floor, <br />front facade. The centered portico, also topped with a red -clay -tile clad <br />shed -style roof, is placed between plate glass windows flanked by multi - <br />paned casement sidelights. Triangular knee braces support the shed -style <br />portico and wrought iron railings flank the concrete entrance steps. <br />Mrs. Laura K. Sanborn built the Spanish Colonial Revival buildings <br />on the corner of N. Lacy and Vance Streets in 1931. She was the first <br />occupant, moving into 419 1/2 in this building. Soon after, Carlton and <br />Irene Johnson moved into the first floor apartment. He was a salesman <br />for the gas company. <br />506-510 Vance St. Minimal Traditional Apartments <br />1946 <br />The two-story apartment building at 506-512 Vance St. was built <br />by the same person who constructed the apartments' immediately to the <br />west, at 829-35 N. Lacy St. A low-pitched hipped roof tops the rectangular <br />stucco -clad symmetrical building. Three score lines visually divide the first <br />and second stories. 2-over2 double -hung windows, divided horizontally, <br />are used throughout the building. A hipped portico, supported by pairs of <br />square posts with lath patterns between the sets, is centered in the front <br />facade. A pair of matching paneled wood doors lead to the interior. <br />400 BLOCK WELLINGTON STREET <br />410 Wellington St. Collins House Craftsman Bungalow 1909 <br />Topped with a side -facing gabled roof with deep eaves and triangular <br />knee braces, the two-story Collins House is fronted with a single -storied <br />
