Oral Communications — Comments from the public. <br />(For matters not listed on the Agenda) <br />There were no oral comments. <br />3. Comments from the Deputy City Manager. <br />Ms. Cindy Nelson informed the Commission that she had recently met with a <br />gentlemen who collected antique and collectable cars who was interested in creating a <br />museum and she would keep the Commission apprised of the project; and commented <br />that she was very familiar and sensitive to historic issues in the Downtown area. <br />4. Comments from staff. <br />Mr. Edwards reminded the Commission of the National Trust Conference October 31, <br />2000 through November 4, 2000 and requested the Commission to meet promptly at <br />6:00 a.m. to carpool with staff; informed the Commission that Ms. Leslie Heumann <br />was selected as the historic consultant. <br />' Mr. Kenneth Adams, Planning Manager, apprised the Commission that staff went on- <br />line with the SAPIN system and he would conduct a study session with the <br />Commission regarding the new computer system at an upcoming meeting. <br />5. Comments from the City Attorney. <br />There were no comments. <br />6. Comments from the Historic Resources Commission. <br />Commissioner Bustamante <br />• Welcomed and congratulated Ms. Nelson on her new position with development <br />services. <br />Commissioner Giles <br />• Welcomed and congratulated Ms. Nelson. <br />Commissioner Cribb <br />• Requested staff conduct a survey of remaining Quanset huts. <br />• Requested staff provide the status of the Memphis restaurant as it relates to historic <br />preservation. <br />' Commented that staff was achieving many of the Commission's objectives. <br />• Congratulated Ms. Nelson for her new assignment <br />• Requested a copy of the photograph of the original Otis building be distributed to the <br />Commission. <br />Commissioner Burr c <br />• Welcomed Ms. Nelson. <br />Commissioner Brenes <br />• Requested staff contact Fran Laster and provide assistance for placing a structure on <br />the National Register. <br />4 <br />
