HISTORIC DESIGNATION MARKER PROGRAM <br />To establish a Historic Designation Marker Program for identifying structures of historical <br />significance citywide. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Commission policy. <br />COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: <br />Recommend that the Historic Resources Commission recommend that the City Council approve the <br />Historic Designation Marker Program and appropriate the necessary funding. <br />Ms. Hally Cappiello, Assistant Planner II, provided an overview of the staff report and <br />recommendation. <br />Several Commissioners inquired as to the funding of the program. Mr. Joseph Edwards, Principal <br />Planner, indicated that funding had been provided for various Commission objectives, however, no <br />funding was provided for the creation of plaques themselves; and to acquire additional funding <br />would require approval by City Council. <br />Motion to direct staff to prepare an action item for Commission consideration to recommend <br />that the City Council approve the Historic Designation Marker Program and appropriate <br />funding. <br />MOTION: Bustamante SECOND: Cribb <br />2 <br />
