Minter St. Apartments <br />RMEMOZ( <br />N. C. <br />A mansard roof tops the three-story stucco -clad apartment house at <br />810. The building covers the whole lot, with the exception of a six -foot - <br />wide strip across the front. The first floor is a parking garage, entered <br />through a wide wrought iron gate. Sets of aluminum -framed windows, <br />centered in framed surrounds, occupy the top two stories in the front <br />facade. A plain wood door and mailboxes are located to the north of the <br />the garage door. The building does not contribute to the historic district. <br />811 N. Minter St. Apartments <br />ca. 1978 <br />Rectangular in shape, with a flat roof, the apartment building at <br />811 does not contribute to the historic district. The front facade, clad in <br />horizontal wood siding, is accented with narrow vertical batting. The <br />stairs, windows, and corridors are located on the south side of the <br />building. <br />813 N. Minter St. Kittle House California Bungalow 1922 <br />Narrow clapboard siding covers the exterior of the single -storied <br />bungalow at 813 N. Minter. The low-pitched front -facing gabled roof is <br />fronted by a matching offset gabled porch. The porch is supported by <br />three round wooden pillars. They do not appear to be original. A pair of <br />double -hung windows is located to the north of the plain wooden door, <br />while a single double -hung window graces the south side of the door. <br />Double -hung windows are used throughout the rest of the house. <br />James Kittle, an insurance agent, and his wife, Grace, were the first <br />owners of this small bungalow, built in 1922. In 1924 John and Effie <br />Campbell moved in. He was the manager of the Western Auto Supply, <br />located at 416 W. Fourth Street. <br />814 N. Minter St. Davies House Craftsman Bungalow 1921 <br />A prominent front wing provides the entrance for the single -storied <br />Davies house, built in 1921.
