Santa Ana Police Department <br /> Santa Ana PD Policy Manual <br /> Unmanned Aerial System <br /> 2. Pursuant to lawful process or by court personnel who are otherwise authorized <br /> to review evidence in a related case. <br /> 3. By media personnel with permission of the Chief of Police or the authorized <br /> designee. <br /> 4. In compliance with a public records request, if authorized by law, and in <br /> accordance with the Records Maintenance and Release policy. <br /> 606.13 MAINTENANCE <br /> A properly maintained UAS is essential to its safe operation. Compliance with the preflight <br /> checklist, post-flight inspection, and the immediate repair of mechanical problems will ensure the <br /> availability and safety of the Department's UAS. <br /> The UAS Commander will designate a UAS Maintenance Officer who will coordinate maintenance <br /> for the UAS. This assignment can be in addition to other duties of a team member or someone <br /> outside the UAS Team. Maintenance will be scheduled when it has the least impact on operations, <br /> if feasible. The Maintenance Officer shall notify the UAS Sergeant of the UAS's operational status. <br /> The Maintenance Officer shall be responsible for keeping the UAS maintenance record updated. <br /> Maintenance records shall be retained as provided in the established records retention schedule. <br /> 606.14 STORAGE <br /> UAS and associated equipment shall be stored in a secure location at the Department or an <br /> approved off-site location, and UAS shall not be operated for personal use. <br /> Copyright Lexipol,LLC 2026/01/05,All Rights Reserved. ***DRAFT*** Unmanned Aerial System-9 <br /> Published with permission by Santa Ana Police Department <br />
