What recommendations do you have to change or improve our Eligibility, Selection <br />and Admissions Policies, including Deconcentration and Waiting List Procedures? <br />• These policies and procedures are meant to ensure transparency, fairness, and <br />efficiency in providing housing assistance while promoting diversity, integration, <br />and equitable access to affordable housing options within the community. <br />Rent Determination <br />5. What recommendations do you have to change or improve our Rent Determination <br />Policies? <br />• Key aspects of Rent Determination Policies include: Fair Market Rent, Payment <br />Standards, Rent Reasonableness, Utility Allowance, and Income Verification. <br />The overall aim is to ensure that participants pay an affordable portion of their <br />income towards housing costs while maintaining the program's fiscal <br />responsibility and promoting access to safe and decent housing in the private <br />rental market. <br />Operation and Management <br />6. What recommendations do you have to change or improve our Operation and <br />Management? <br />• Ideas include but are not limited to: Streamlining the application and <br />recertification process to reduce the burden for both program participants and <br />staff, enhancing communication by providing regular updates on program <br />changes, resources, and opportunities, increasing landlord participation in the <br />program, services to assist participants in achieving independence and self- <br />sufficiency. <br />Family Self -Sufficiency Program <br />7. What recommendations do you have to change or improve our Family Self - <br />Sufficiency Program? <br />• Ideas may include but are not limited to: Customized goal setting based on <br />individual needs, strengths, and aspirations; expanded service offerings such as <br />childcare assistance and/or mental health counseling; financial incentives and <br />savings programs to build assets and financial stability over time; job training and <br />employment opportunities; education and career advancement support; <br />community engagement and peer support network. <br />
