City Manager's Office <br />The local sales tax provides a recurring allocation for: <br />• The Universal Legal Defense fund for immigration issues, helping a <br />number of families in the community. <br />• The revenue also funds a Vietnamese Community Liaison which has been <br />pivotal to improve communications and strengthen City Hall <br />relationships with the Vietnamese community, leading to an annual <br />business exposition and robust participation in annual lunar new year <br />celebrations. <br />• Finally, the revenue has paid for contracted City Council aides who <br />assist each Councilmember with policy research and community <br />engagement. <br />Measure X Success 3 <br />
