Director Pezeshkpour explained the 1,000 feet radius is staffs recommendation <br /> as it is a common standard used for sensitive land uses and is consistent with <br /> provisions in the Municipal Code and practices in other jurisdictions, and stated <br /> the requirement would not change the zoning map but would create a buffer <br /> around the first approved smoke shop that would affect subsequent applications <br /> and Council can increase to 2,000 feet radius during the first reading of the <br /> ordinance, if desired. <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Penaloza opened the Public Hearing at 8:02 P.M. <br /> City Clerk Jennifer L.
