COMMUNITY OUTREACH SUMMARY <br /> Purpose and Engagement Goals <br /> The outreach campaign supported the technical team by gathering input from, informing, and <br /> educating a diverse range of Santa Ana residents and stakeholders about potential multimodal <br /> improvements (Figure 4). <br /> Ilk <br /> Figure 4: Project staff shares information about the Study at the Santa Ana <br /> Senior Center on Sept.24,2025. <br /> The campaign's goals were to: <br /> • Engage diverse audiences and use their input to inform the Study, while emphasizing <br /> transparency, community voice, and equitable participation in shaping the corridor's <br /> future. <br /> • Engage partners and stakeholders early and throughout the process to identify shared <br /> goals, understand concerns, and balance competing needs. <br /> • Help build trust, improve project outcomes, and ensure that street changes better reflect <br /> the priorities of the community, while remaining technically and operationally feasible. <br /> Study Audiences <br /> This Study highlights the importance of equitable community engagement while recognizing the <br /> roles of stakeholders, including elected officials, partner organizations, and the business <br /> community. <br /> A demographic analysis of the 1-mile radius around the corridor found a diverse population, <br /> including significant numbers of Spanish-speaking households and a strong presence of <br /> Spanish-language digital platforms. <br /> Along with higher rates of public transit use, carpooling, and lower homeownership than in <br /> Orange County overall, this indicates housing insecurity and positions the project to connect <br /> First Street Multimodal Boulevard Study—9 <br />
