+ +COMMUNITY OUTREACH SUMMARY <br /> NFA <br /> rrti <br /> Figure 21: Workshop 3 flyers were displayed at the CA DMV on First Street in Santa Ana. <br /> Feedback Received <br /> A total of 85 community members were engaged, and 237 comments were collected via <br /> comment cards, feedback forms, sticky notes on aerial maps, and large notepads next to the <br /> design concept boards. Although attendees were not asked to select a preferred design <br /> option, several consistent priorities emerged. <br /> Overall, the community is seeking a balanced corridor design that maintains traffic flow while <br /> improving safety, accessibility, environmental quality, and overall usability. A summary of the <br /> comments include: <br /> • Community members strongly emphasized pedestrian and bicyclist safety, <br /> requesting raised crosswalks, protected intersections, complete sidewalks, and fully <br /> separated bike paths. <br /> • Participants highlighted the importance of improved lighting, reflective features, and <br /> tree canopy to enhance safety and comfort, particularly for students and daily <br /> walkers. <br /> • Residents expressed concern about preserving vehicle travel capacity to prevent <br /> increased congestion, while suggesting measures such as narrower lanes and speed <br /> management strategies to calm traffic without eliminating lanes. <br /> • Several participants shared support for underground utilities, clearly defined <br /> sidewalks, and separated bus lanes. <br /> • Community members expressed appreciation for the opportunity to participate and <br /> for the clarity of information provided. <br /> City Council 11 5/5/2026 <br />
