The victim described the suspect as a male wearing a black and white striped shirt and dark pants. <br />For further details of the original call for service, please refer to Officer C. Perez #3984 Crime Report under the same <br />CI number. <br />It shall be noted that during the incident, my department-issued Axon body-worn camera (BWC) was activated and <br />recorded. All statements made below are summarizations of the facts and circumstances that shall not be taken as all- <br />encompassing of the event. For exact dialogue and sequence of events, please see BWC footage. <br />Arrival: <br />Officer Nevarez and I responded in full uniform in a marked black and white patrol vehicle. We were tasked with <br />holding the perimeter west of the residence located at 1718 South Birch at 1719 South Ross Street. <br />An airship had responded and provided the location of two possible suspects located one house east of our location, <br />1718 South Birch. <br />Officer M. Benavides #3766 arrived to assist in holding the perimeter. <br />Officer Nevarez conducted a records check of the residence where the suspects were located. The records check <br />revealed that one residents were linked to an attempted murder and had prior weapons violations. <br />We were informed by the airship that one of the suspects from the residence was making their way west through the <br />backyard and out the south side gate of 1719 South Ross Street. <br />Contact with <br />The suspect, later positively identified as walked straight towards Officer Nevarze and me. a <br />Hispanic male, brown buzz-cut hair, approximately 5’10’’ to 6’00’’, and 200 to 230 pounds, was wearing a baggy black <br />Santa Ana PD 2025-11359 Report by Monaco, Gabriella 3996 2 of 4
