SUSPECT:
Officers: Officer MONACO #3996 and Officer NEVAREZ #3673
NARRATIVE:
On June 9, 2025, at approximately 2059 hours I was working for the Santa Ana Police Department as a Forensic
Specialist. I responded to 1720 South Birch Street for a Forensic Investigation regarding a robbery investigation.
I arrived at approximately 2125 hours and met with Officer CASILLAS #3755, Officer C. PEREZ #3984, and Corporal
RAYA #3345. Officer C. PEREZ advised the suspect, later identified as used a firearm to take items from
the victims, and Evelyn REYES. The victims were tracking their phone to the address of
Officer C. PEREZ advised officers observed the suspect run into the yard at the location. At some point
during the call for service, the suspect was observed jumping over fences in the neighborhood as well. Officer C.
PEREZ advised a pellet gun was located in the backyard of the location, similar to the firearm description used in the
incident. I was also advised a Springfield 1911-A1 was located inside the residence that matched the firearm
description as well.
Corporal RAYA advised me there were groceries taken from the victims during the incident and advised there were
groceries on the ground of the backyard near the south wall. Corporal RAYA requested photographs of the groceries,
photographs of (the suspect), and photographs of officers that were at the Orange County Global Medical
Center (OC Global), located at 1001 North Tustin Avenue.
Officer CASILLAS requested I collect the pellet gun and Springfield 1911-A1 weapon as evidence and then requested
I meet him at the victim’s residence to have them identify which weapon was used in the incident.
I observed the following: 1720 South Birch Street was an east facing, one-story residence located west of 1718 South
Birch Street on the same property. There was a gate located on the north side of the residence that led into the
backyard. The backyard had a patio with various items on it, including a white dresser. On top of the dresser was a
brown and black colored Crosman 2240 bolt action .22 caliber pellet gun. South of the pellet gun, near the backyards
south wall, was a plastic bag on the ground with “Superior Grocers” printed on the front. Inside the plastic “Superior
Grocers” bag was a bag filled with grapes. Next to the “Superior Grocers” bag was a plastic bag filled with apples and
an open Frito Lay chip bag.
I walked into the residence and met with Officer C. PEREZ in the east bedroom. I observed a furnished room that had
a closet in the north wall. There were shelves within the closet with various items on them including a black, cloth
case with Springfield Armory printed on the front. Inside the case was a Springfield 1911-A1 (SN#NM968590)
Santa Ana PD 2025-11359 Report by Davila, Sarah 3975 2 of 4
