SUPPORT SERVICES <br /> The purpose of the Support Services (Employment Readiness) team is to facilitate the success <br /> of trainees through resources and a safe environment to address barriers, enhance social <br /> emotional and soft skills to assist in collaboration with their workforce readiness team in <br /> meeting program outcomes. <br /> Support Services refer to services and activities provided and conducted by Hope Builder's <br /> Employment Readiness Specialists/Coordinators. <br /> Hope Builders Support Services model takes an intentional case management approach using <br /> a biopsychosocial framework to understand the needs of trainees. This approach recognizes <br /> that trainees face barriers that are beyond issues of access. <br /> Employment Readiness Specialists/Coordinators are equipped to help trainees address social, <br /> emotional, and mental health barriers and encourage the participant to connect with their <br /> natural supports systems and external resources to improve workforce preparedness. Support <br /> Specialists have differing levels of education and training, but all understand the role systems, <br /> the environment and trauma impact the lives of Hope Builders trainees and use the strengths <br /> of the individual and social and emotional skill building to enhance their lives. <br /> Employment Readiness Specialists/Coordinators use a biopsychosocial framework that <br /> integrates personal involvement and various interventions to improve a trainees social and <br /> emotional skills and address their personal and environmental challenges to improve their <br /> workforce preparedness while maximizing a trainee's strengths. To achieve this, Employment <br /> Readiness Specialists/Coordinators conduct the following activities: <br /> ■ Comprehensive case management services with emphasis on social and emotional skill <br /> sets: self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, and healthy relationships <br /> (Done through 1:1 encounters and soft skills workshops) <br /> • 1:1 weekly meeting's <br /> ■ Weekly Soft Skills classes <br /> ■ Linkages to external resources <br /> ■ Assess for barriers <br /> ■ Collaborate with the trainee and/or with colleagues <br /> Participant Stipends Work Ex eriencetWEX <br /> Participant stipends are provided to participants engaged in structured Work Experience <br /> (WEX) activities as part of program participation. Participants receive a $100 weekly stipend <br /> tied to documented participation hours in approved work-based learning placements and <br /> related program activities. These stipends support consistent engagement in training, reduce <br /> financial barriers to program completion, and are issued in accordance with established <br /> eligibility, approval, and documentation procedures. All stipend payments are tracked through <br /> required internal systems to ensure compliance with program and fiscal requirements. <br /> 5 <br />
