• The building would require a fire flow of more than two thousand <br />five hundred (2,500) gallons per minute if such system were not <br />installed; <br />- The building exceeds two stories in height. <br />EXCEPTIONS: <br />1. Group R occupancies as defined in California Fire Code <br />Section 903.2.8. <br />2. Open free standing parking structures, whether or not such <br />structures exceed two (2) stories in height, constructed of <br />noncombustible materials above grade, and meeting all of the <br />provisions of the building code of the City of Santa Ana and <br />National Fire Protection Association Standard 88A, need not be <br />provided with automatic fire sprinkler unless such sprinklers would <br />be required due to the area and height limitations of the building <br />code of the City of Santa Ana or the estimated fire flow exceeds <br />five thousand five hundred (5,500) gallons per minute. Where a <br />conflict exists between the building code of the City of Santa Ana <br />and National Fire Protection Association Standard 88A, the more <br />restrictive requirement shall apply. <br />(c) Subsections 507.5 and 507.5.1 of the California Fire Code are deleted. <br />(d) Subsection 507.5.2 of the California Fire Code is amended to read as <br />follows: <br />507.5.2 Private Hydrant Testing. <br />Private hydrant systems shall be inspected and serviced annually, and the <br />owner shall correct any deficiencies immediately. Hydrants shall be <br />flushed, valves operated and caskets and caps inspected. Hydrant paint <br />shall be maintained in good conditions. <br />SECTION 60: That section 14-28 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />such that it reads as follows (new language underlined, deleted language in strikeout for tracking <br />purposes only): <br />Sec. 14-28.
