REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />MAY 16, 2011 <br />TITLE: <br />APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT <br />ACCEPTING THE 2010 -11 CLICK -IT <br />OR TICKET MINI -GRANT AWARD <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 15t Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2 "d Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Approve an appropriation adjustment accepting the 2010 -11 Click -It or Ticket Mini -Grant award in <br />the amount of $8,064 into the revenue account (account no. 16514002- 52001) and appropriate <br />same into the 2010 Click -It or Ticket Mini -Grant Overtime expenditure account (account no. <br />16514415- 61040). <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Santa Ana Police Department has been awarded a $8,064 grant from the UC Berkeley Traffic <br />Safety Center (TSC) for the 2010 Click -It or Ticket Mini -Grant Program. TSC is under contract with <br />the California Office of Traffic Safety to administer this grant. This grant funding will allow the Police <br />Department's Traffic Division to enforce seat belt use on an overtime basis. The goal of the project is <br />to increase seat belt use state wide to 96% by June 5, 2011. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Approval of the appropriation adjustment will enhance the 2010 -11 Click -It or Ticket Mini -Grant <br />Program revenue account (account no. 16514002 - 52001) by $8,064 and increase the same into the <br />overtime expenditure account (account no. 16514415- 61040). <br />V� <br />Paul M.
