Support/Participation in Community Action Programs <br />Hill lends its support for various community oriented actions. In so doing, Hill hopes to enhance the image of <br />Hill in the community, especially among minorities and women. Hill efforts include the following: <br />1. Hill encourages key members of management to serve on community relations boards, merit <br />employment councils and participate in similar activities. <br />2. When requested, Hill assists secondary schools and colleges in programs designed to enable <br />minority and female graduates to compete fairly in the marketplace. <br />3. Hill supports community female and minority interest groups. <br />Guidelines for Prevention of Sex Discrimination <br />Hill endorses and complies with the following policy statements. <br />Hill employment advertisements do not express a sex preference nor does Hill place <br />advertisements in columns designated "males" or "females". <br />2. Hill recruits and employs individuals of both sexes for all positions. <br />3. Hill maintains gender-neutral personnel policies. <br />4. Hill's application forms include a strong statement against sex discrimination. <br />5. Hill makes no sex based distinctions in employment opportunities, wages, hours or other terms <br />or conditions of employment. <br />6. Hill treats married and unmarried men and women the same for purposes of any personnel <br />actions. <br />7. Number and age of children are not factors in job offer decisions. <br />8. Hill provides physical facilities appropriate for both sexes. <br />9. Hill endorses and complies with the 1978 Pregnancy Discrimination Act, as it amended Title VII <br />of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Hill applies any leave of absence policy uniformly, regardless <br />of sex. Maternity leave is treated like any other short-term medical leave. <br />10. Hill's wage rates are not related to or based on sex. <br />11. When appropriate, Hill makes affirmative efforts to increase the number and percentage of <br />women in the workforce, including, but not limited to the following: <br />a.
