The One -Stop center /service provider or local WIB will be the employer of record for purposes <br />of payroll, withholding, and payment of the employment taxes associated with the wages paid <br />to participants in addition to Workers' Compensation Insurance coverage. The One -Stop <br />center /service provider, or local WIB if applicable, will not withhold State Disability Insurance <br />(SDI) from participant wages and will not pay State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) on a <br />participant's behalf. <br />3. Overtime (in excess of 40 hours per week and /or 8 hours per day) work is not allowed. In the <br />case where a worksite requires a participant to work on an authorized state or national holiday, <br />the participant will be paid at the same holiday pay rate as similarly situated temporary <br />employees. No vacation or sick leave shall be provided. <br />4. WIA funds cannot be used to pay for a paid a Work Experience assignment or Internship that is <br />part of any training program with an Internship or externship as part of the curriculum. <br />S. One -Stop Centers /service providers will provide their own timesheets based on their <br />payroll /accounting systems and will ensure that the processes and documents used are <br />consistent for all Work Experience and Internship activities. <br />6. Payroll processes must comply with federal and state wage and hour rules based on the One - <br />Stop Center /service provider's classification. <br />These policies and procedures may be modified and /or amended at any time by the California Multi - <br />Sector Workforce Partnership to comply with prevailing state and federal regulations or to better meet <br />the needs of project participants within the parameters of the Act. <br />W. <br />
