The City's <br />computer network includes 275 Cisco manufactured pieces of equipment which require <br />maintenance and support to ensure the viability of the network infrastructure. The City's current <br />Cisco contract provides SMARTNET maintenance service for network gear supporting various City <br />agencies including 24x7 maintenance and support services for the Police Department. Services <br />are provided directly by Cisco and sold by its arrangement of resellers. Cisco's SMARTNET <br />support and maintenance is critical to preserving the integrity and minimizing downtime of the <br />City's computer network. <br />A notice inviting bids was advertised on January 4, 2012 and bids were solicited. A summary of the <br />bid invitations and bids received is as follows: <br />8 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />4 Bids were received <br />Bids were received and opened January 12, 2012 (Exhibit 1). The bid from En Pointe <br />Technologies Sales, Inc. is responsive to the specifications and meets the City's requirements. <br />22A -1 <br />
