<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The work performed shall be done in accordance with the Standard Specifications for <br /> Public Works Construction, latest edition, hereinafter referred to as Standard <br /> Specifications. In case of conflict between the Standard Specifications and this <br /> Specification, this Specification shall take precedence over and be used in lieu of such <br /> conflicting portions. <br /> Where the plans or specifications describe portions of work in general terms, but not <br /> complete detail, it is understood that workmanship of the finest quality is to be used. <br /> Unless otherwise specified, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, <br /> equipment and incidentals and do all the work involved in executing the contract. <br /> <br /> 2.09 CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT <br /> The Contractor shall take all necessary precautions for safe operation of his equipment <br /> and the protection of the public from injury and damage from such equipment. <br /> 2.10 SOUND CONTROL REQUIREMENTS <br /> The Contractor shall comply with all local sound control and noise level rules, <br /> regulations and ordinances that apply to any work performed pursuant to the Contract. <br /> Each internal combustion engine used for any purpose on the job or related to the job <br /> shall be equipped with a muffler of a type recommended by the manufacturer of such <br /> equipment. No internal combustion engine shall be operated on the project without said <br /> muffler. Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section shall be <br /> considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of work involved <br /> and no additional compensation will be allowed therefore. Sounds, such as loud music, <br /> that are not related to the project, shall be kept at levels so as to not disturb the general <br /> public. <br /> 2.11 TRAFFIC CONTROL <br /> The Contractor shall notify the SAPRF representative of intent to begin the contract work <br /> at least five (5) days before work is begun. The Contractor shall cooperate with local <br /> authorities relative to handling traffic through the areas and shall make arrangements <br /> relative to keeping the working area safe and clear of vehicles. <br /> When entering or leaving roadways carrying public traffic, the Contractor's equipment, <br /> whether empty or loaded, shall in all cases yield to public traffic. All traffic delineation <br /> and work area protection shall conform to the Work Area Traffic Control Handbook <br /> (W.A.T.C.H.) 2000 Edition. <br /> <br /> The Contractor shall make every effort to keep commercial driveways open during <br /> working hours. Should this not be possible, Contractor shall coordinate with the property <br /> owners affected to insure that designated times of ingress and egress is available. After <br /> working hours, all driveways shall be accessible with smooth and safe crossings through <br /> any construction area (State of California Traffic Manual). <br /> 2.12 INQUIRIES AND COMPLAINTS <br /> <br /> The Contractor shall maintain an office at some fixed place and shall maintain a <br /> telephone thereat, listed in the telephone directory in his own name or in the firm name <br /> by which he is most commonly known.
