PROPOSAL NARRATIVE (10 pages maximum for this section) <br />A. Executive Summary (1 page) <br />1. Briefly describe your organization. <br />2. Briefly describe how this program fits in with programs currently being offered by your <br />agency. <br />3. Briefly describe the basic program (indicate the number of youth to be served, which WIA <br />population will be served, activities /workshops, work experience, training, educational <br />resources, work readiness, case management strategies). <br />4. Indicate the planned outcomes and how they will meet the WIA Performance Goals. <br />5. Disclose the total funding request. <br />6. Indicate which of the 10 WIA elements the program will offer (all 10 elements not <br />required). <br />B. Program Description <br />1. Describe the program in its entirety from July 2012 -June 30, 2013. <br />2. Indicate the number of youth that will be served <br />3. Indicate which WIA population will receive the services. <br />4. Indicate the age group that will be served. <br />5. Describe the recruitment plan. Indicate how the program will attract and interest youth. <br />6. How will your agency ensure that 75% of youth are enrolled by the second quarter of the <br />program year (December 31, 2012). <br />7. Describe the services that will be provided to the participants and the agency that will be <br />responsible for providing those services. <br />8. Describe how the program will lead to a pathway of self- sufficiency. <br />9. Describe how the program includes opportunities for participants to gain work experience <br />and receive compensation whether through payroll, stipends, incentives. <br />10. Indicate how the program uses innovative teaching strategies to improve numeracy and <br />literacy. <br />11. Describe how the program assists youth in attaining employment or entering post- <br />secondary education. <br />12. Indicate how the program will connect youth to resources that will help them earn an <br />accredited credential or certificate or diploma. <br />13. Indicate how the program will provide training and employment services that lead to <br />occupations in high growth /high demand industries. <br />14. What is the length of the program? How much time will a youth need to be in this program <br />to get the full benefits? How often will the WIA participant need to attend the program <br />and how often are specific activities offered (daily /weekly /monthly)? <br />15. How often will participants meet with agency staff? Will other non -WIA agency staff be <br />providing elements of the program? If so, please describe. <br />16.
