Orange County Children's Therapeutic ARTS Center <br />2215 N Broadway • Santa Ana, CA 92706 • 714.547.5468 • Fax 714.564.9690 • www,occtcc.org <br />501(c)3 Federal Tax ID# 33- 0930891 <br />Paid Youth Work Experience Policy <br />WIA Program 2013 -2014 <br />Purpose: To establish guidelines for the youth's paid work experience placements while <br />enrolled in OCCTAC's Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program. <br />Procedures: <br />Stipend Period: <br />Four Stipend Periods - First 100 hours of participation <br />Most youth are able to complete their first 100 hours of participation in about 2 <br />months. During the first two months of participation, all youth will be required to <br />attend regularly for about 10 -20 hours a week. For their consistent participation, <br />youth will receive a $150.00 stipend after they complete the first 25 hours. Youth <br />will receive three more stipends, each of $150.00, upon completion of the 2nd, 3rd, <br />and 4th set of 25 hours, for a total of 100 hours. <br />The stipend hours will be completed through difference venues: Case <br />Management meetings, workshops, Educational counseling services, work <br />experience placement, job skills training, weekly tutoring, etc. <br />Hourly te: <br />Once Youth completes the Four Stipend Periods <br />Immediately after the completion of the first 100 hours of participation, those <br />youth that have shown consistency will be encouraged to work between 15 -25 <br />hours per week until their job training period is completed. These youth will be <br />paid $8.00 per hour. <br />ifi 67 <br />
