M. <br />19F -73 <br />Yrs 2 -5: Implement processes shown for year 2 in "business <br />development plans" above. <br />STANDARD 4: YOUTH PROGRAMS/SUPPORT MATRIX <br />Focus more directly on methods for <br />Yr 1: Research and study best practices and available resources in <br />ameliorating drop -out rate <br />Santa Ana and region, including ACCESS, alternate, charter schools. <br />Yr 2: Determine best strategies for addressing issues and design <br />pilot programs to address them. <br />Yr 3: Select willing K -12 and other sites, train their administrators <br />and teachers, and launch pilots. <br />Yrs 4 -5: Review and adapt pilot and expand throughout local schools <br />and related institutions. <br />Yr 5: Expand throughout local area, enlist schools and others. <br />Work to engage disconnected youth <br />Yrs 0-1: Determine locations where disconnected youth congregate, <br />engage those with reputation for being able to bring them back to <br />school programs. <br />Yrs 1 -5: utilize similar strategy to above: study — pilot —full <br />implementation —to modify high school programs for this <br />population. <br />More tightly connect supportive <br />Yr 1: Create formal collaboration with "Employer Boards" plus local <br />services to youth programs <br />educational institutions at all levels to gather data, study issues. <br />Yrs 1 -2: Expand and formally organize support service providers, <br />including private sector. <br />Yrs 1 -5: Expand formal workshops and seminars, and job fairs and <br />focus on career pathways, especially in priority areas, apprentice- <br />ships, and other programs for disconnected youth. <br />Expand concept and applications of <br />See Sections 1 and 3 above regarding identification and expansion of <br />career path education for youth <br />career path training programs.
