Employees may take an unpaid leave of absence daring pregnancy disability consistent <br />with the law. <br />As with all other temporary disabilities, a physician's certificate is required to verify the <br />extent and duration of the temporary disability. <br />An employee who plans to take a pregnancy leave must give a reasonable notice (not less <br />than four (4) weeks) before the date site will take the leave and the estimated duration of <br />the leave. Health and welfare insurance coverage will be continued only if the employee <br />pays a cash premium to continue coverage while on a leave of absence without pay or is <br />covered under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or California Family Rights Act <br />(CFRA) provisions. <br />49 <br />25B-89
