According to the Santa Ana Fire Department Paramedic Supervisor, <br />Coastal Community Hospital is a paramedic receiving center. The UCI <br />Medical Center is regularly utilized by both paramedic and ambulance <br />services. <br />With regard to ambulance services, the following ambulance services <br />operate within the project area and repeatedly travel on Bristol Street <br />to both Coastal Community Hospital and UCI Medical Center. These <br />ambulance services are listed below by company and location. <br />Comp Location <br />Doctors <br />23095 Terra Drive, Laguna Hills <br />Medix <br />661 W. First Street, Tustin <br />Morgan <br />1533 E. First Street, Santa Ana <br />Schaefer <br />2215 S. Bristol Street, Santa Ana <br />Southland <br />10600 Katella, Anaheim <br />In addition, the above mentioned ambulance services have indicated <br />they regularly travel to the following locations: 1) Emergency <br />Treatment Services (ETS); 2) Royale Convalescent Hospital; and 3) <br />Royale Therapeutic Residential Center (TRC). All of these facilities <br />are located at 1030 West Warner Avenue, just east of the proposed <br />project area in the City of Santa Ana. <br />1. Land Use <br />Existing land uses in the project area are graphically depicted on Figure <br />14, following. This information was developed through a walk - through <br />survey of the entire project corridor during March and October, 1986. <br />In general terms, the types of land uses found here include a mixture of <br />residential, commercial, educational and public facilities. <br />Most of the project area was developed between 1946 and 1956, the <br />first decade following World War U. During this period, Mater Dei <br />High School was constructed, Santa Ana (now "Rancho Santiago") <br />Community College became operational and numerous commercial <br />businesses were started. North of Seventeenth Street, citrus groves <br />were converted to tract duplex housing and Honer Plaza and the <br />Santiago Elementary School were built. The Santiago Creels Bridge <br />was built in 1947. <br />III -35 <br />
