Spring Street <br />Los Angeles, CA 90012 <br />Dear Sue: <br />We have received a letter from the Santa Ana Unified School District in <br />regard to the recreational usage of Santiago Elementary School which adjoins <br />the Bristol Street project. <br />The letter from Mr. Anthony Dalessi , Assistant Superintendent, is <br />enclosed for your reference. The letter states that the school grounds are <br />not used for organized recreational events, but are used only for practices <br />by Little League and Pop Warner teams and for general unorganized recreation <br />by area residents. Based on our previous conversations, these characteris- <br />tics would appear to allow us to forgo a 4(f) statement for this property and <br />we would request the concurrence of Caltrans and FHWA on this <br />interpretation. <br />With regard to the other concerns stated in the District's letter, we feel <br />we can address these within the framework of our study.
