PROGRAM EVALUATION <br />Housing Production and Approval <br />Ultimately, the success of housing programs is reflected in the number of <br />affordable housing units built, preserved, or rehabilitated. Santa Ana has made <br />tremendous progress in this regard in just the past three years. Key projects built <br />or approved during the planning period include: <br />Triada Development. This project includes 114 units of new apartments, new <br />single - family homes, and rehabilitated homes on single and scattered sites. This <br />project was funded with $15 million in RDA funds, a $4 million land donation, <br />and low income housing tax credits worth $13.7 million. The project provides <br />deed - restricted housing for extremely low and very low income residents for a <br />minimum of 55 years. This effort earned Project of the Year Award at the 31 <br />Annual Affordable Housing Award. <br />Terraces at Santiago. This project includes 36 two- and three- bedroom units of <br />family apartments. It was funded by $7 million in low income housing tax credits, <br />and land was acquired with NSP funds, $3.8— million in RDA funds, and $25 <br />HOME funds. The project provides deed - restricted housing for extremely low <br />and very low income residents for a minimum of 55 years. This effort earned a <br />Gold Nugget Award for Best Residential Project of the Year within a Suburban <br />Setting. <br />Depot at Santiago. This project includes 70 units of apartments affordable to <br />extremely low and very low income housing. It was funded with $3 million loan <br />in CDBG and HOME funds, $700,000 in rental housing vouchers, and $18 <br />million in low income housing tax credits. The project provides deed - restricted <br />affordable housing for extremely low and very low income households for a <br />minimum of 55 years.
