REQUEST FOR <br /> COUNCIL ACTION � 'o <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> OCTOBER 2, 2000 <br /> TITLE: APPROVED <br /> ❑ As Recommended <br /> ❑ As Amended <br /> DELHI PARK DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT ❑ Ordinance on 1st Reading <br /> AND APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT ❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br /> ❑ Implementing Resolution <br /> ❑ Set Public Hearing For <br /> /62 CONTINUED TO <br /> A-2000-1 71 <br /> FILE NUMBER A-2000-1 72 <br /> CITY MANAGER <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> 1) Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the Mayor and the <br /> Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Delhi Center for the <br /> construction and funding of Delhi Community Center. <br /> 2) Approve an appropriation adjustment allocating California Youth <br /> Authority Grant funding of $2 , 250 , 000 , from Delhi Center, in revenue <br /> account (account no. 169-01-5365) and appropriate the funds to the <br /> expenditure account (account no. 169-345-6631) for Delhi Community <br /> Center Improvements . <br /> 3) Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the Mayor and the <br /> Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Nello Group, Inc . <br /> for the construction of Delhi Community Center and Park Improvements <br /> for an amount not to exceed $4 , 922 , 050 per the attached funding <br /> analysis (Exhibit 1) . <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> On June 5, 1995, the City of Santa Ana and Delhi Center entered into an <br /> agreement for the design, construction and operation of a new Delhi <br /> Community Center and expanded Park site . The City of Santa Ana was <br /> successful in completing all design for the community center, soil <br /> remediation work and obtain funding from the State of California in the <br /> amount of $788, 000, Empowerment Zone Funding in the amount of $1, 997, 000 <br /> and City General Funds in the amount of $150 , 000 , totaling $2 , 935, 000 for <br /> the project . <br /> Page 83 25.
