areas, which steps include detailed analyses of the conjunctive <br />use of groundwater basins, water reclamation, and a variety of <br />water conservation techniques: <br />J. MWD, CMWD, MWDOC, SA, and OCWD have determined <br />that it is mutually beneficial for cost-effective local water <br />projects originating in the service areas of CMWD, MWDOC. and <br />SA to be developed as a supplement to MWD's imported 'water <br />supplies in order to meet future water needs; <br />K. Local project yield can be cost-effectively <br />developed within the CMWD, MWDOC, and SA service areas; <br />L. A significant amount of treated wastewater <br />generated within the OCWD service area is currently lost to the <br />ocean, which water when provided tertiary treatment can be used <br />for special subpotable purposes: <br />M. OCWD is currently planning and desires to <br />construct a distribution system and modify its existing water <br />treatment facilities to be collectively known as the "Green <br />Acres Reclamation Project" (hereinafter the "Project") for 'the <br />distribution to local retail water purveyors or consumers <br />within its boundaries of reclaimed wastewater for landscaping <br />irrigation and industrial uses, which Project has been <br />determined by OCWD to be cost-effective for development within <br />its boundaries, and which will produce additional yield of <br />available subpotable water to MWD for special purposes and <br />uses, thereby reducing the need for additional water that <br />otherwise must be delivered from MWD's aqueduct water supply <br />system: <br />111919 <br />
