EXEMPT FROM FEES PURSUANT <br />TO GOVERNMENT CODE § 6103 <br />ROH — 11/06/14 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -XXX <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION <br />NO. 2014 -25 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />934 WEST SHARON ROAD, SANTA ANA, ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2014 -26 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE CONTRIBUTIVE <br />CATEGORY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. On November 6, 2014, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2014 -25) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2014 -26) of the Cohrt House, located at 934 West <br />Sharon Road, Santa Ana. <br />B. The Cohrt House has distinctive architectural features of the Ranch style <br />and was built in 1951 for Theodore (Ted) and Carroll Cohrt. Mr. Cohrt <br />was born in 1923, and attended the University of Southern California, <br />graduating with a degree in engineering. He took a salesman job for the <br />firm Brinckherhoff. Brinckerhoff was the Democrateic delegate for the <br />Democratic National Convention at one time. <br />C. This home qualifies for listing on the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties and is eligible for categorization as Contributive because it is "a <br />good example of period architecture." <br />D. Character - defining features of the Cohrt House that should be preserved <br />include, but may not be limited to, exterior materials, massing and exterior <br />sheathing, original windows where extant, chimney, and front porch <br />configuration <br />E.
