All experience levels are needed. <br />Must have strong mechanical aptitude in mechanical assemblies. Industries such <br />as marine, automotive, motorsport, aviation, aerospace and energy are relevant <br />fields of experience. <br />2-5 years minimum in composites, preferably in aerospace or motorsport <br />industries <br />Tiers for composite technicians: <br />Composite Trainee — Experienced in manufacturing skills set is limited. Require <br />training and experience performing work before they are approved to work on <br />any projects independently. Must be supervised by another composite <br />technician in performing work. <br />Composite Technician — Performs work that does not require lead composite <br />technicians. Require full supervision in aid in NADCAP process of <br />manufacturing. <br />Advanced Composite Technician — NADCAP qualified personnel or working <br />directly with qualified personal as training. Work in the cutting area would require <br />a lead technician oversight. <br />Lead Composite Technician — NADCAP Qualified Capabilities — Can perform <br />any composite task to a qualified level. This would include lamination, finish <br />work and bonding. Works with little supervision and supervises other composite <br />technicians to make sure they are adhering to the required process to meet part <br />requirements. Can work on any level of part requirements and prototype <br />projects. This also includes performing the functions in the cutting of materials <br />without supervision. <br />Leads must have the experience and ability to work independently and lead in the build <br />of complex developmental composites preferred. Provide technical support utilizing <br />planning, engineering drawing and specification to build complex composite parts. <br />WORKING CONDITIONS <br />Physical Demands: <br />While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and <br />talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; walk; use hands to finger, <br />handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, bend, <br />crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and <br />occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job <br />include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and <br />ability to adjust focus. Requires eye -hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires <br />corrected vision and hearing to normal range. <br />Equipment Operated: Vacuum pumps, heat sources, special hand tools, ladders, <br />stands, mechanical stands, hi -reach lifts. <br />H:\jobdescription\compositetech\mrh \8-19-2014 <br />
