PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />The purpose of this project is to provide a description of <br />the paleontological: archaeological and historical resources <br />existing along Bristol Street between First Street and Memory <br />Lane in the City of Santa Ana, Prange County, California_ The <br />work was undertaker in support of a proposed project to provide <br />street improvements along the subject section of Eristol Street. <br />The Area of Potential Environmental Impact [APEI] for this <br />project is defined as the first row of properties fronting on <br />Bristol Street between First Street and Memory Lane. The <br />project area is depicted on the Index Map cn page 2 of this <br />report. The locations of some o{ the important features within <br />the pra,ect area are depicted on the Project Map which appears <br />on page 7 of this report. <br />SURVEY RESUME <br />METHODOLOGY: <br />The methodology varied depending an the type of resource <br />under study: <br />1. Paleontological resources: The locality records of <br />the Museum of Natural History of Los Angeles County and the <br />Natural History Foundation of Grange County were atudiad to <br />determine what prior paleontological resources had been <br />identified in the vicinity. Field evamination was not <br />undertaken due to the absence of any subsurface exposures in the <br />project area. <br />2. Archaeological resources: The records of the <br />Archaeological Survey, (University Of California. Los Angeles <br />were utilized to determine the extent of prior archaeological <br />rasearch in the project vicinity.
