2015 Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center
Youth Employment Program - WIOA Proposal
has already provided at Community Day High School workshops on resume writing and cover
letters to youth on probation. We plan to provide at least 2 workshops each semester (4 per
year); and provide a booth at their Annual event. We will also provide youth with flyers and
information on our program, and encourage them to enroll in the WIOA program.
4. Target group — High School Dropout Youth: In partnership with the Santa Ana Unified School
District and Pupil Support Services/School Climate Department, OCCTAC will target and serve
the high school dropout youth in Santa Ana. Dr. Sonia Rodarte Llamas (Director) has met
with Dr. Ana Jimenez-Hami and Lizeth Lopez to discuss our new and exciting partnership!
Her staff will be providing us with referrals of youth who unfortunately stopped attending
school for more than 3 months, and are now considered High School Dropout students. We
are looking forward to creating and growing our partnership with the Santa Ana Unified
School District to continue to provide and expand work experience placements, vocational
training, academic/employment services and mentoring to youth who have dropped out yet
want to achieve their high school diploma.
Lastly, OCCTAC will continue to conduct community outreach and special community events
throughout the year to promote our programs and inform the youth in the Santa Ana
community about this wonderful WIOA program. Some of these community events include
Expos, Health Fairs, Summer Family Festivals, etc. These events aid in the promotion of our
services and recruitment of youth. These events are staffed by employees and volunteers at
OCCTAC, as well as youth! WIOA participants are also encouraged to participate in these
events as a way to gain leadership skills, work experience, and practice with public speaking.
F. Include a Letter(s) of Support from organizations that have agreed to refer youth to your
program as Attachment C. Please see letters of support from our partners as Attachment C.
Attachments include letters of Support from: Jacqueline Russell- Garcia M.Ed. (Transition
Program, Nilo E. Lipiz (Santa Ana College), Gary Taylor (OC Social Services Agency), Sylvia Kim
(Multi -Ethnic Collaborative of Community Agencies), Juan Carlos Araque PhD. (UCS School of
Social Work), Miguel E. Gallardo PsyD. (Pepperdine University), Christina Lopez (WHW
Empowering Employment Success).
EXHIBIT A
