ELEMENTS OF TRAINING <br />HOURS OF TRAINING <br />Objective l- <br />• Responsible for informing patients regarding Sano Medical Center's <br />250 <br />protocols and confirming patient appointments as needed. <br />• Greets patients and visitors to the medical office and obtains all <br />required information to register patient. Ensures/assists patient in <br />completing all forms. Reviews current registration information with <br />patient updating information as required. <br />Registers new patient in computer and prepares chart. Place the <br />appropriate forms in chart according to reason of the visit. <br />• Ensures every patient signs in by using the sign -in sheet before <br />entering office and documents address and phone number in sign -in <br />sheet. <br />• Performs general clerical duties including faxing, copying, filing, <br />distribution of memos and daily schedules etc. as needed and <br />maintains needed supplies to conduct daily work. <br />Objective 2 <br />• Verify coverage, print and file in patient's chart. <br />250 <br />Establishes the correct type of payment and update if patient insurance <br />changes. <br />• Responsible for collecting payments from patients, post payment in <br />the computer system, maintaining money drawer, balancing monies <br />and turning in completed batch. <br />• Per office procedures, determines total charges for visit and <br />calculates patient financial responsibility per established policies and <br />procedures for cash patients. Collects required copayments, payments <br />(cash, check, credit card), issues computer receipts and records in the <br />system. Ensures that billing information and collections are routed to <br />appropriate personnel/department. May collect past due balance when <br />appropriate. <br />Objective 3- <br />340 <br />• Schedules patient visits. Confirms appointments, cancels <br />appointments, reschedules appointments and notifies clinical staff of <br />appointment changes. Discusses scheduling conflicts or problems with <br />supervisors. Provides schedule updates during the day. <br />• Checks patient out at the end of visit as per office procedures. <br />• Informs clinical personnel when patient has arrived; routes patient to <br />appropriate clinical area. <br />• Oversees the front area for cleanliness, safety and continuous <br />awareness of visitors, alerting supervisor of any issues. <br />RATING LEVELS: <br />Measurement method: how will it be determined if OJT participant acquired the skill? <br />-Q&A, observation, product review/inspection, etc. <br />PROFICIENT MODERATE MARGINAL <br />II. COST COMPUTATION <br />Hourly Reimbursement: $12.00 (50% of $6.00) <br />Training Hours: 840 <br />Cost Per Trainee (Hourly Reimbursement X Training Hours) — $ 5,040 <br />
