LS 10.31.16 <br />Is] V41121FAf007:411104 [OR 01 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA REPLACING THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA ZONING SECTIONAL DISTRICT MAPS <br />INTO A NEW GRAPHIC FORMAT <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby find, <br />determine and declare as follows: <br />A. Amendment Application No. 2016 -04 has been filed with the City of <br />Santa Ana to formally remove and replace the City of Santa Ana <br />Zoning Sectional District Maps (SDM) into a new graphic format. <br />B. Amendment Application No. 2016 -04 proposes to merely modify and <br />reformat the map legend and page layout of the Sectional District <br />Maps. The replacement Sectional District Maps do not include any <br />changes to zoning boundaries or designations for individual <br />properties; no changes in zoning are being made with this action. <br />C. The new SDM page layout will facilitate the efficient production of <br />zoning maps through the use of Geographic Information System <br />(GIS) technology. Additionally, the SDM legend has been modified to <br />more accurately reflect the zoning districts and related designations. <br />D. The Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana held a duly <br />noticed public hearing on November 14, 2016, on Amendment <br />Application No. 2016 -04 and recommended that the City Council <br />adopt an ordinance approving Amendment Application No. 2016 -04. <br />E. The City Council, prior to taking action on this ordinance, held a duly <br />noticed public hearing on December 6, 2016. <br />F. The City Council also adopts as findings all facts presented in the <br />Request for Council Action dated December 6, 2016 accompanying <br />this matter. <br />G. For these reasons, and each of them, Amendment Application No. <br />2016 -04 is hereby found and determined to be justified by public <br />necessity, convenience, and general welfare, <br />Section 2. In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act <br />(CEQA) and the State CEQA Guidelines, the proposed project is exempt from <br />further review pursuant to Section 15061 (b)(3), as there is no potential for causing <br />a significant impact on the environment due to the adoption of this ordinance.
