The facility has two 20 ton per hour sorting lines plus an area for <br /> processing construction and demolition material. <br /> Processing and Recovery Techniques <br /> The Sunset Environmental MRF is a full-service materialrecovery facility <br /> which can process all wastestreams (residential, commercial, industrial). <br /> The overall processing strategy is to isolate the major wastestreams and to <br /> process them separately using a combination of manual and mechanical <br /> means. Separate processing enables the facility to accurately monitor the <br /> City's diversion rate by wastestream and material type. <br /> Descriptions of how each wastestream is processed at the Sunset <br /> Environmental MRF follow. The next Exhibit is a site plan of the Sunset <br /> Environmental MRF which illustrates the processing locations described <br /> below. <br /> Residential Waste (Single Family Homes) <br /> The Sunset Environmental MRF has recently added the capability <br /> of sorting mixed residential loads from the City, including bagged <br /> yard waste received in mixed waste loads. Utilizing a 90 ft. long <br /> elevated sorting platform, facility personnel are able to recover <br /> recyclable materials such as cans, bottles, newspaper, mixed paper <br /> and yard waste from loads of mixed residential waste. Approximately <br /> 20 tons per hour of residential waste can be processed over this line. <br /> Residential waste picked up at the curb by Great Western <br /> Reclamation collection trucks will be delivered to the facility through <br /> the west gate. Each collection truck will proceed to a weigh-in area <br /> consisting of one 70 ft. and one 40 ft. computerized scale. Space <br /> exists between the public road and the scalehouse for a maximum <br /> of 12 collection trucks to queue. The tare weights of vehicles that <br /> 35 <br />
