Facility Master Plan <br />Ea <br />FRESNO CHAFFEE ZOO I FRESNO, CALIFORNIA <br />D E 5 1 G N <br />CLIENT <br />CLR was commissioned by the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, and the City of Fresno, to <br />Fresno Chaffee Zoo Corporation <br />develop a Facility Master Plan for the 18 -acre Zoo and the surrounding 148 -acre <br />CLIENT a IT11 EREN11 C 11 E <br />Roeding Park. The primary objective of this planning effort was to provide a <br />Lewis Greene <br />comprehensive road map for future development, with a special focus on"Measure <br />PREVIOUS DIRECTOR <br />Z" bond acka g, and implementation, which included a 21- <br />Currentlyatthe <br />Columbus zoo and Aquarium <br />projectIn <br />p g g, phasing, <br />acre expansion to the Zoo. <br />T. 614.645.3415 <br />Over the 8 month planning process, CLR developed new land use and circulation <br />PROJECT SIZE <br />models for Roeding Park and the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. This new organization <br />39 Acres <br />simplified vehicular and pedestrian Circulation systems, and proposed a new <br />parking hub and main entrance to the Zoo, which proved to be a key solution and <br />MASTER PLAN COMPLETION <br />driver of the spatial organization of the Master Plan. New paths, gardens, event <br />2008 <br />venues, attractions, and other recreation concepts were developed fort e par <br />DESIGN Planning <br />system. The Zoo Master Plan focused on redefining and refurbishing the existing <br />masterPlanning <br />Maste <br />----------�'"'---- <br />18 -acre menagerie Zoo campus, as well as developing completely new ideas for <br />KEY PERSONNEL <br />the 21 -acre expansion site. New Initiatives at the existing Zoo campus include a <br />Prey Dykstra, AIA, LEEDAP sD+c <br />g new entry tr villa d kin hub, diversityof life pavilions and education <br />y ge anparking <br />PRINCIPAL.
