APR 2 6 2017 P of <br />RPA National Association and Park A�sociatian <br />0: ARCS (/) <br />Silvia Cuevas <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />N-2017-039 <br />This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), dated April 3, 2017 (Effective Date), is made between <br />National Recreation and Park Association, a Virginia-based not-for-profit 501(c)3 with a mailing <br />address of 22377 Belmont Ridge Road, Ashburn, Virginia, 20148 (NRPA) and the City of Santa Ana, a <br />charter city and municipal corporation organized and existing under the laws of the state of California, on <br />behalf of the City's Parks, Recreation & Community Services Agency, a provider of park, recreation, or <br />community services in Santa Ana, CA (Grantee). <br />1. Purpose <br />The purpose of this MOU is to confirm approval of the terms governing the acceptance and use of Twenty <br />Five Thousand ($25000) made available for the implementation of the Healthy Out -of -School Time <br />Program Grant. <br />This grant opportunity is the result of a partnership between NRPA and the Walmart Foundation to <br />increase the number of healthy meals served to children in low-income communities, provide evidence - <br />based nutrition education, implement the Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (NEPA) standards, and <br />reduce food waste in park and recreation out-of-school time programs. Having been selected as a <br />recipient of finding through this program, Grantee is required to accept the terms contained within this <br />MOU in order to receive fielding as a grant recipient. <br />2. Grant Requirements <br />1. Direct grant funds to: <br />a. Increase the number of healthy meals children in low-income communities receive <br />through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), Child and Adult Care :Food Program <br />(CACFP) or the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) at park and recreation sites <br />during out-of-school times. <br />b. Provide nutrition literacy to children and families that creates behavior change by <br />teaching the importance of healthy eating. <br />c. Implement nutrition and physical activity standards that increase access to healthier foods <br />and increase opportunities for physical activity. <br />d. Implement meal and program efficiencies that increase community sustainability. <br />Provide a copy of your agency's W-9 along with this signed MOU by May 1, 2017. <br />Complete the following items by May 15, 2017. No grant funds will be disbursed until each of <br />these items are complete. <br />a. Register your out-of-school time sites for NRPA's Commit to Health initiative and <br />complete the Alliance for a Healthier Generation's Healthy Out -of -School Time <br />Assessment and Action Plan for each of your out-of-school time sites where you plan to <br />implement the HEPA standards. The assessment and action plan will be updated at the <br />end of the grant period. <br />b. Submit an updated program budget on the provided template <br />4. At least one representative of your agency must: <br />a. Watch the pre-recorded grantee requirement training that outlines grantee responsibilities <br />by April 15, 2017. <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
