As a graduate of Mater Dei High School Class of'65, I would first like to thank you for the approval of our soon to be built parking structure, and for all of the past financial assistance you have extended to Mater Dei in their quest to continue to bring an outstanding educational experience to the students of Santa Ana and the surrounding area. Your recognition of Mater Dei as "gem" for the city is appreciated. Mater Dei has always offered the highest quality education to all of its students no matter their religious affiliation. Nearly 50% of the students received financial assistance. On May 15th, I'm requesting that you please consider helping to defray the cost of utilities and street changes to our current project; the parking structure on the corner of St. Andrews and Baker. Your financial help would enable Mater Dei to retain more funds for the use our students and their education. The parking structure will help to decrease traffic congestion on Bristol and Edinger, enhance the safety of our students and the neighborhood, and help us to continue to be good neighbors to those living around our school. Thank you for considering this request. Sincerely, Carol M. Cox (resident of Santa Ana for 70 years!) 2 Orozco, Norma From: Ann Frazier < Sent: Tuesday, May 15, 2018 10:40 AM To: eComment Subject: Mater Dei parking structure The city should fund the necessary lighting etc to help with this project. Mater Dei has brought & continues to bring accolades to Santa Ana. Not only am I an alumnae of Mater Dei but also a lifelong resident of Santa Ana. My children also are alumni and I witnessed the impact of cars and parking in the vicinity of MDHS. I think we owe it to those neighbors to get the cars off of their streets and the city should be willing and able to do their fair share! Thank you. --Ann Frazier Sent from my Whone J
