Subject: 55C. ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SANTA ANA ACTIVE
TRANSPORTATION PLAN - Public Comment - Please SUPPORT this resolution.
Importance: High
Mr. Mayor and honorable City Council, I hope you support this Resolution.
Passing this resolution will pave the way to make our streets safer for our neighbors. This will help residents who cannot
afford cars and those who want to ride their bicycles around Santa Ana without the worry of getting killed by a car.
While there is no specific project or funding as part of this resolution, your support on this will help staff find grants and
other sources of moneys to fund safe infrastructure and implement this plan.
While I cannot make the time to attend the meeting and voice our support, please take this email as a sign of support
from myself, our family and my neighbors who use a bike to move around Santa Ana.
- Please show the rest of America how in Santa Ana, we care about moving people.
- Please show how in Santa Ana, you do not need to spend $9,000 a year to maintain a car in order for you to
have access to our roads and services.
- Please show how in Santa Ana, we value the lives of our residents that are tragically killed every year while on a
bicycle.
- Please show the rest of America how in Santa Ana, we treat every resident equally, whether or not you own a
ca r.
