I believe that it would be a valuable safety measure to add a maximum width to the description of "oversized vehicle." In researching other California cities it appears that many such width restrictions are between 78 and 82 inches maximum width. I think that a maximum width restriction of 7 ft. (84 inches) is generous and reasonable. In example, my utility trailer on which I tow my Jeep is 94 inches wide. A. That the Santa Ana Municipal Code, is hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered 36- 19. which said section reads as follows: Section 36- 19 Oversized Vehicle Oversized Vehicle shall mean any vehicle, including any attached trailers, vehicles or loads thereon, that exceeds 22 feet in length or 7 feet in height (or 7 ft. in width).
