MEMORANDUM OP UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN
CHAT GRANT SERVICE PROVIDERS
AND
CITY Olt SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT
This Memorandum of Understanding CIMOU'") stands as evidence that Olive Crest, a Californin
non-profit corporation, mid Child Guidance Center, a California non profit corporation, said
partners ocmprising a collaborative howri an "CHAT GRANT SERVICE PROVIDERS" and
CITY OF SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT {'SAPD"} Intend to work together toward the
mutual goal of providing maximum available assistance for child crime victims residing in Orange
County. Both aganoies believe the implementation of the Child Abuse Treatment (CHAT)
Program application will further this goat, To this end, the two agencies agree to participate In the
exchange of services by coordinating the provision of CHAT Program objectives.
CHAT GRANT SERVICE PROVIDERS will closely coordinate the following services
with SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT.
a. The CHAT GRANT SERVICE PROVIDERS will refer to SAPD suspected child
victims of abuse to Include neglect, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, domestic
violence, school and community violence, hate orlmes, child abduction, ohildrenwhose
lives are victimized by parental substance abuse, high tocb crimes against children, and
runaway youth to ensure the cosantion of the abuse by providing Ildoges to establish
a safe onvirooment for the children),
b. The CHAT GRANT SERVICE PROVIDERS will receive referrals from SAPD for
suspected child victims of child abuse to include neglect, sexual, physical and
emotional abuse, domestic violence, school and community violence, hate crimes, obiid
abduction, children whose lives are victimized by parented substanoe abuse, high tech
crimes against children, and runaway youth far assisting them In understanding and
participation in the crimhial justieo system4ndieial proceedings as the result of a crime
oommitted against the child,
o The CHAT GRANT SERVICE PROVIDERS will receive referrals from SAPD for
suspected child vlotims of child abuse to include neglect, sexual, physical and
emotional abase, domestic violence, school and community violence, hate crimes, child
abduction, children whose lives are victimized by parental substance abuse, high tech
orliiues against children, and runaway youth fbr treatment services to include
psychotherapy and other related services as those victims are Identified through
SAPD'S normal course of business.
2. SAPD will closely coordinate the following services with the CHAT GRANT SERVICE
PROVIDERS.
a. SAPD will reeoivo referrals form the CI4AT GRANT SBRVICES PROVIDERS
N-2019-225
of suspected'ohild victims of child abuso to include neglect, sexual, physical and
emotional abuse, domestic violence, school and community violence, hate crimes, child
abduction, children whose lives are victimized by parental substance abuse, high tech
crimes against children to ensure the cessation of dne abuse by providing linages to
establish a safe environment for the chlld(ren),
b SAPD will refer to CHAT GRANT SERVICE PROVIDERS suspected child victims
of child abuse to Include neglect, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, domestic
violence, school Enid community violence, hate crimes, child abduction, children whose
lives are victimized by parental substance abuse, high tech crimes against children, and
runaway youth for treatment sorvlees to include psychotherapy and other related
services as these victims are Identified through SAPD'S normal coarse of business.
3. CHAT GRANT SERVICE PROVIDERS and SAPD may mutually agree to schedule
meetings between designated stuff from CHAT GRANT SERVICE PROVIDERS and
SAPD to discuss strategies, timetables, and implementation of the Child Abuse Treatment
Program services dismissed herein.
This MOU will begin on October 1, 2019 and ends on December 31, 2020,
We, the undersigned, as authorized representatives of OLIVE CREST, CHILD GUIDANCE
CENTER, and CITY OF SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT do hereby approve this
Operational Agreement.
