RECOMMENDED ACTION
1.Review calendar of regularly scheduled City Council Meetings in 2020.
2.Cancel the regularly scheduled City Council meetingfor January 7,2020; August 4, 2020;
andNovember 3, 2020.
3.Direct staff to post Notice of Cancellation(s). TheCity Council hereby waives notice of
said meetings as required by the government code.
DISCUSSION
Consistent with past practice, the City Council has cancelled the first meeting of the year,
election night, anda meeting during the summer months. If the City Council cancels any
regularly scheduled meeting, they will resume consideration of agendaitems at their next
regular scheduled meeting. The City Council reserves the right to cancel any other meetings
and notify the public as legally required.
The 2020Master Calendarand agendas forall regular and special meetings will be posted on
the City's website at: https://www.santa-ana.org/cc/city-meetings.City Council Meetings are
typically held in the Council Chamber, 22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Anaand Council Committee
meetings at City Hall, Ross Annex, Room 1600, Santa Ana or as otherwise noted on the
agenda.
STRATEGIC PLAN
Approval of this agreement allows us to meet Goal #5. Community Health, Livability,
Engagement & Sustainability, Objective#1(Establish a comprehensive community engagement
initiative to expand access to information and create opportunities for stakeholders to play an
active role in discussing public policy and setting priorities).
