Subject: April 7 Virtual City Council Meeting: Comment on Councilmember Iglesias Request To
Repeal Measure X
I would like to express my disapproval of Councilmember Iglesias' request. Measure X was approved by the voters of
Santa Ana as a way to help the City meet its budget needs and the funds being collected have allowed the City to get
healthy. I do not know what is driving Councilmember Iglesias to make this request. Is it possible that she is trying to
use this to support her effort in defeating the Repeal effort? If this is in response to the Covid 19 impacts on the City
and its citizens then either a temporary pause in the collection of the extra tax revenue or, better yet, take the funds and
deposit them into a special pool to be used to help the Santa Ana businesses as they recover from the adverse impact
that the Stay at Home requirement to fight the Covid 19 virus has had on their businesses. Hopefully the other
Councilmembers will see through this request and make the right decision and reject her agenda item.

Measure X
I with out a doubt fully back Councilmember Iglesias request to repeal measure X. We can not afford this in
this time of economic hardship.
