The State has moved back to the “Blueprint for a Safer Economy.” • Each county’s current tiered status and an outline of each industry and their operating status can be found online covid19.ca.gov.• Orange County is in the purple tier (the most restrictive tier). COVID-19 UpdateFebruary 2, 2021Slide 3COVID-19 Testing• We are restarting a local COVID-19 testing site just for Santa Ana residents beginning Wednesday, Feb. 3. • Appointments are required and registration opened on Monday, February 1.• Testing will be available Wednesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Santa Ana College. COVID-19 UpdateFebruary 2, 2021Slide 4Vaccines• We are urging the County of Orange to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine equitably and effectively to our residents, many of whom are the most vulnerable to this virus. • We opened a one-day vaccination site for almost 500 of our senior citizens, and we are working with the County to provide additional local vaccinations as quickly as possible.• In the meantime, visit the County’s vaccine website, where you can sign up with the Othena app to receive notifications for when vaccination appointments are available and to receive the County’s new vaccine newsletter.• The City of Santa Ana is partnering with UC Irvine on a vaccine outreach campaign to educate residents on the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine. COVID-19 UpdateFebruary 2, 2021Slide 5State Eviction Moratorium Extended through June• Governor Newsom signed a bill extending the statewide moratorium on residential evictions through June 30, 2021. It provides assistance to help pay back rent that is owed.• Under the bill, tenants have to pay at least 25% of their rent. Landlords can receive a rent subsidy that will pay them 80% of the total rent owed from April 2020 to March 2021 if they forgive 20% and don’t pursue evictions. COVID-19 UpdateFebruary 2, 2021Slide 6Rental Assistance: SAVES Program• Santa Ana residents impacted by COVID-19 who are behind on rent and facing eviction can apply for up to 12 months’ rent (which includes up to six months’ rental arrears since April 1, 2020) and receive free legal and mediation services starting this week. • This program is for qualified very-low income households in Santa Ana who have been: 1. Impacted by COVID-192. Notified in writing that their right to occupy their current housing or living situation will be terminated3.
